LACC Delivers

Under AEG Facilities, the LACC reported its most successful year in its 46-year history for fiscal year (FY) 16/17. The convention center set a record in the number of events hosted at the venue, including an increase in citywide conventions, resulting in an increased occupancy rate of 74 percent. In the world of convention centers 70% is considered fully occupied.  In addition, US$26.4 million was generated in tax revenues to the City of Los Angeles, with US$18.2 million in hotel transient-occupancy tax contributions to the City’s general fund.

First Class Service

The LACC dedicated team of event professionals work with Show Management to plan and develop an event from start to finish. We create a collaborative environment driven by our common goal: to create a successful event that will exceed expectations.

The process begins with the client’s Request for Proposal. Upon receipt, one of our knowledgeable Sales Managers contacts the client within 24- hours to identify the best space to host the event, answer any questions, as well as provide facility information and other resources.

After thorough and transparent negotiations, the license agreement is signed, sent to the client and one of our talented Event Managers is assigned and added to the collective team of Show Management, Sales Manager, and Event Managers.

Our team works diligently to bring the client’s vision to life by proactively communicating, being industry experts and bringing that expertise to the table, and developing a close relationship with the client. We pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service and ensuring that every event held at the LACC is successful.

Next Level Sustainability

The LACC strives to reduce its environmental impact while providing a positive experience to clients and guests. The venue was first of its size in America to be re-certified at the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold level. The LACC was also the first LEED Existing Building® for Operations & Maintenance (LEED-EB: O&M) Gold certified building in the City of Los Angeles in 2010 and currently (Sept. 2015) holds the first convention center Gold recertification on the West Coast! The LACC is committed to leveraging its position in the community to raise awareness of environmental issues and inspire others to take action. To mitigate negative environmental impact, we invest heavily in sustainable products, technology, and practices.

Green initiatives include:

  • Energy-efficient lighting, including LED and CFL technology
  • A “cool roof” and light defusing windows, which reflect sunlight and heat away from the building
  • We turn off non-essential lighting, escalators, and HVAC in unoccupied areas of the building
  • 710 toilets replaced with low GPF units; water consumption for toilet use is forecasted to decrease by 20-25% annually
  • Replaced 30,000 sq. of turf with drought-tolerant landscaping, saving 320,000 gallons of water per year
  • Water-efficient kitchen dishwashers, which save close to 630,000 gallons of water annually
  • New waste and recycling bins made from 97% recycled milk jugs were purchased to increase the proper diversion of materials
  • As part of our recycling and waste diversion plan, the LACC has an active ongoing back- of-house waste sorting program and area called “The C.U.R.B” – Committed to Using our Resources Better. The C.U.R.B is instrumental in the waste diversion process by hand sorting glass, aluminum, and plastics #1 & #2 from the waste stream
  • Sourcing local and organic food
  • The LACC replaced a total of 1,670 paper towel, toilet, and soap dispensers with more efficient models

Taste of L.A. is committed to sourcing local products, using the freshest ingredients available, and preparing exquisite meals to deliver heartfelt joy to our guests. Offering concessions, catering, portable options, food trucks, exhibit booth service, customized staff meal options and so much more, Taste of L.A. delivers excellent food inspired by the City of Angels.

World Class Facility

The Los Angeles Convention Center features 346,890 square feet of contiguous exhibition space in South Hall, 210,685 square feet of contiguous exhibition space in West Hall, 164,000 in Kentia Hall, two carpeted special event halls of 21,000 and 26,000 square feet, 64 column free meeting rooms on the second level and a 299 seat newly renovated theatre. In addition to multi-functional space, the LACC also includes spacious sky-lit lobbies with artwork designed by nationally recognized artists, outdoor event spaces, facility-wide Wi-Fi access (complimentary in public spaces), high-density network with 10-gigabit internet capability and over 5,400 parking spaces with easy public access.
